The short version

Pocket Veto does not collect any data. Not usage data, not device identifiers, not crash reports, not analytics events, not your name, not your location, not anything. There is no account to create, no server to talk to, and no way for information about you or your play to leave your device. This is not a policy choice we could quietly reverse in an update — it's an architectural fact: the app ships with no network layer at all. It contains no networking call, no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash reporter, and no third-party library of any kind. That absence is enforced by an automated test that fails the build if a forbidden networking symbol is ever introduced.

Everything below exists to make that short version precise and legally complete.

1. What we collect

Nothing. We do not operate a server, a database, an API, or any backend for Pocket Veto. There is no user account, no login, no chat or messaging feature, and no user-generated content that could be transmitted or shared. We do not use analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or attribution tools of any kind, so we never receive a device identifier, an advertising ID, an IP address, a usage event, a crash log, or any other signal from your device. We do not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework because we do not track — there is nothing to ask permission for.

Concretely, this means we have no way to know:

• That you downloaded or opened the app
• How you play, how often, or for how long
• Your device, OS version, region, or IP address
• Any name you type into the game (see §2)
• Whether the app crashed

2. What stays on your device, and why it isn't "collection"

Pocket Veto saves your game locally so you can resume a presidency, keep your best runs, and build up your Archive and Portrait Hall. This includes:

• Your in-progress run and saved game state
• Your personal bests, unlocked content, and play history within the app
• Any name you type in for your in-game President (this is fiction, and is never validated against, or transmitted to, anything)
• App settings (sound, haptics, reduce-motion preference)

All of this is written to local storage inside the app's own sandboxed container on your device. None of it is transmitted anywhere, because the app has no network code capable of transmitting it. This is local storage under your control, not "collection" by us in any meaningful sense — we never receive a copy, see it, or have access to it.

Deleting the app deletes everything. Because all state lives inside the app's own container and nowhere else, uninstalling Pocket Veto permanently and irreversibly removes all of it. There is no backup copy on our side to delete, because none was ever made — we have nothing to delete on request because we never had anything in the first place.

3. Apple's own data (purchases, device backups)

Pocket Veto is a paid app purchased once through the App Store. That transaction — your Apple ID, payment method, and purchase record — is handled entirely by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy and is not shared with us. We do not receive your name, email, or payment details from Apple. If you use iCloud or iTunes/Finder device backups, any backup of the app's local files is governed by Apple's backup and iCloud terms, not by us.

4. No tracking, no advertising, no data sharing or selling

We do not track you across apps or websites. We do not serve ads. We do not use any third-party SDK — advertising, analytics, or otherwise — inside Pocket Veto. Because we collect nothing, we have nothing to share, sell, rent, or disclose to any third party, data broker, or advertiser, and we never have. There are no "service providers" processing player data on our behalf, because no player data ever reaches us.

5. Children's privacy (COPPA)

Pocket Veto is rated 12+ on the App Store, driven by mild satirical/political content and infrequent mild crude humor — not by any data practice. Because we collect no personal information from any user, of any age, this app does not collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose children's personal information as defined by the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). There are no accounts, no chat, no user-generated content, and no way for a child (or anyone) to submit information to us through the app.

6. Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA / CPRA and similar laws)

Data protection laws such as the EU/UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) give you rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We have no personal data about you to act on. Because Pocket Veto never transmits, collects, or stores any information about you outside your own device, there is nothing in our possession to access, correct, delete, export, or stop selling — we have never sold or shared personal information, and structurally cannot, since none reaches us.

If you submit a data request to us at the contact address below, we will confirm in writing that we hold no personal data about you, which is the accurate and complete response under both GDPR and CCPA/CPRA given this app's architecture.

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.

7. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

We do not process personal data in connection with Pocket Veto, so no lawful basis under Article 6 GDPR is engaged. This section is included for completeness rather than because it does substantive work here.

8. International users

Pocket Veto is distributed globally through the App Store. Because no personal data is collected, processed, or stored by us, there is no cross-border data transfer of personal data to describe, and no international data transfer mechanism (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) is required.

9. Data breach notice

Because we never receive, store, or process personal data on any server we operate, we have nothing to breach. In the unlikely event we ever became aware of a security issue affecting the app, we would evaluate our notification obligations at that time, but there is no data flow this policy needs to protect today.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of Pocket Veto adds a feature that does involve data leaving the device — we will update this document, update the "Effective date" above, and update the App Store's Data Not Collected / privacy label to match before that version ships. We will not silently expand data collection without updating this policy first.
